Greetings,

On Sunday, Governor Whitmer and the Department of Health and Human Services issued an Epidemic Order to help us slow the spread of Covid-19 and to save lives. This order takes effect on Wednesday, November 18th and will be in effect for 3 weeks. Buildings and workplaces must close, except for those things that cannot be done from home.

All in-person worship services are suspended.  We encourage congregations to find ways to gather online and to care for one another from a distance (phone calls, etc.,). Should your congregation wish to livestream worship from your church building please contact your Missioner. If the need arises to hold a funeral, please contact your Missioner for guidelines.

As you know, our healthcare system here in the U.P. is overwhelmed, which leaves every single person in our communities at risk of not receiving essential healthcare services.  We are hopeful this directive will save lives.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact your Missioner or one of the diocesan staff as we follow the Epidemic Order to care for one another.

Faithfully,

+Rayford
