Hope & Healing: Engaging Indigenous Cosmologies & the Gospel in Action

Friday, October 17
9:30 am -4:30 pm
Terrace Bay Hotel in Gladstone

Join Sarah Augustine and Sheri Hostetler, co-founders of the Coalition to Dismantle the Doctrine of Discovery and authors of So We and Our Children May Live: Following Jesus in Confronting the Climate Crisis for a day-long, participatory workshop.

In partnership with Episcopal Divinity School, this experience will guide you in embodying the dismantlement of the Doctrine of Discovery through hopeful and creative practice. We will engage with both the Gospel and Indigenous cosmologies, working in community towards restoration and healing.

Throughout the day, you will:

  • Co-identify an Economy of Life
  • Get Grounded in the Soil
  • Start or Continue to Develop a Decolonizing Lens

This workshop is designed for hands-on engagement, featuring working table groups throughout the day to help you identify actions and commitments, encounter fellow community members, and commit to action and communal accountability.
