On Good Friday, UP Wild met at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Marquette to celebrate the Stations of the Cross.

Attendees walked through the cemetery, moving from station to station.  Each station uses statues to illustrate a sequence of events from Christ’s final hours on Earth.  At each stop, event organizer Rachel Chase led the group in prayers with attendees offering a response.

At the eleventh station, which depicts Christ being nailed to the Cross, attendees participated in a powerful interactive experience.  Each person hammered a nail into a cross, forcing them to think about the cruelty endured by Christ and the sacrifice made for all of humanity.
